NUS Legal technology competition

The NUS Legal Technology Competition is our annual flagship event, in which participants from various disciplines must work in teams to craft innovative legal-tech solutions to address real-world legal problems. Sponsored by WongPartnership, the competition initially was warmly received in 2018/19 and in subsequent years since, seeing a wide array of creative solutions being put forth.

Singapore Academy of Law Legal-Tech Mentors Programme

The annual Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) Legal-Tech Mentors Programme seeks to train selected law students to be well-equipped with the advanced features of digital legal research tools, including LawNet, e-discovery and e-litigation platforms.

Additionally, students are exposed to tools involving Artificial Intelligence (AI) and information management systems through vendors sourced by SAL. Trained law students will then act as mentors to share their exposure and skills with practising lawyers and paralegals through engagement sessions.

LAWTECH.ASIA ASSOCIATE AUTHORSHIP PROGRAMME

During the summer and winter vacations, members from LawTech.Asia will mentor and guide a selected pool of Associate Authours through an interactive attachment scheme to produce an article on their own area of interest in Legal-Tech. These articles will then be reviewed and eventually published on https://lawtech.asia/.

ALT+LAW on AIR

Alt-Law on Air is a podcast initiative that seeks provide students with fresh perspectives from practitioners in an array of specialisations where law and technology intersect. Through candid conversation, we also aim to help students cultivate an interest in legal-tech, enabling them to better navigate through the rapidly changing legal landscape.

Alt-Law Rountable Discussion: The Future of Legal Education

In light of the growing development and influence of technology in the legal profession in Singapore, the Alt-Law Roundtable Discussion was organised to facilitate in-depth idea-generation of the future of formal legal education in NUS Law, with the generous insights of a suite of legal professionals and faculty members.

Our Projects and Initatives

As the profession undergoes substantial shifts and restructuring, it is only right that formal legal education adapts to serve these changing demands. As such, we strive to integrate real-world needs with legal education through partnerships with notable players in the legal profession.
